US Military Conducts New Strikes Near Strait of Hormuz

The US military has carried out fresh strikes in the area of the Strait of Hormuz, according to Axios. This marks the first US strikes in the region since a Memorandum of Understanding was signed.

The US military has launched new strikes in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime chokepoint for global oil shipments. The action was reported by Axios and is the first such military operation in the area since the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.

Details on the scale, targets, and casualties of the strikes have not yet been released. The Strait of Hormuz is a strategically vital waterway connecting the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman, through which about 20% of the world's oil passes.
