Trump Administration Strikes Deal with Anthropic to Release Mythos 5 Model

The Trump Administration and Anthropic have resolved a two-week standoff over the company's latest AI models, according to a report from CNBC. The deal grants Anthropic permission to release its Mythos 5 model to a select group of roughly 100 companies and federal agencies.

Senior Anthropic staffers flew to Washington DC to meet with administration officials to negotiate the terms. Earlier this month, Anthropic had disabled access to both its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models in compliance with an export control directive from the government.

The agreement is expected to have significant industry-wide implications, though specific terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
