Iran Accuses IAEA Chief of Hostility, Threatens Inspection Ban

Iranian official Mohseni Sani accused the IAEA director general of hostile conduct and said Iran's law requires suspending cooperation, barring agency inspections at disputed sites.

Iranian official Mohseni Sani has accused the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) director general of “hostile” conduct, claiming his actions facilitated anti-Iran resolutions at the UN Security Council and the IAEA Board of Governors.

Sani stated that under Iranian law mandating the suspension of cooperation with the IAEA, the agency will not be allowed to enter the country to inspect sites it wishes to visit. This marks a significant escalation in tensions between Tehran and the international nuclear watchdog.

The move follows recent IAEA reports indicating Iran has not fully cooperated with inspections, raising concerns about its nuclear activities. The new restrictions could further complicate diplomatic efforts to revive the 2015 nuclear deal.
